In case you weren't aware, there is an admission fee charged by Mountain Vista when you attend the Varsity field hockey games. (These prices are for regular season HOME games; playoff game prices are determined by CHSAA.) The prices are as follows: • Adults/General Admission (18 years & older): $6 • Students (Grades K-12) and Senior Citizens (60 yrs $ older): $4 • Children under 4: Free Only Mountain Vista High School students with an activity card can get into regular season home games for free. More information about this can be found. Junior Varsity and C Team games do not require an admission charge. Please note that other teams' stadiums may also charge admission (such as Cherry Creek). Field Hockey is a co-op sport sponsored by Mountain Vista High School. Girls from any DCSD school are encouraged to participate in field hockey through Vista.

Mountain Vista Field Hockey was formed in 2004 for students who attend a high school in Douglas County school district to play field hockey. As with any program, if field hockey is not offered in a district or at given private school, students from adjacent school districts or private schools that do not have field hockey may also choose to play at Mountain Vista. In 2010, Mountain Vista field hockey earned a State Championship. Though the team has not realized that success since, Mountain Vista has had some strong seasons and returned to the playoffs in 2016, losing a 1-0 battle against the five time defending state champions from Colorado Academy.

Part of the formula that makes Mountain Vista field hockey so successful is that many of the players are multi-sport athletes playing soccer, lacrosse, swimming and ice hockey to name a few. Since 2010 nearly a dozen athletes have gone on to play college field hockey, and a significant number of athletes have been named all-state and have been invited to play in the selective Senior Game at the end of the season. In the past 5 years the Mountain Vista field hockey program has had students from 12 area high schools on the roster. Players have come from Mountain Vista, Rock Canyon, ThunderRidge, Highlands Ranch, Douglas County, STEM, Valor, Ponderosa, Chaparral, Mullen, Heritage and Arapahoe (Since the addition of Field Hockey at Arapahoe High School in 2016, students from Littleton School District now play on Arapahoe’s team and not Mountain Vista).
