Under Tax Forms click on W4 Federal Withholding Allowance. The W-4 Federal Withholding Allowance Certificate webpage will display your current Federal W-4 withholding tax information. To view and/or print a current Federal W-4 tax form, click the Print button which will display the representation of the actual Federal W-4 tax form. Click the Go Back link to return to the Federal W-4 Tax Exemptions/Allowances. To perform an update to your current tax information, click the Update link at the bottom of the W-4 Federal Withholding Allowance Certificate.
In terms of Section 80 of the Income Tax Act [Chapter: 23:06], a 10% Withholding Tax is deductible from all amounts payable to all persons who enter into contracts with the State or a statutory body, a quasi-government institution and taxpayers who are registered with the Zimbabwe Revenue Authority (ZIMRA) except in circumstances where the payee (one who receives payment) furnishes the paying officer with a tax clearance certificate.
The Update W-4 Information webpage is displayed for employees to update their Federal tax filing status, change number of exemptions or allowances and add an additional withholding amount (flat dollar amount). To update the Federal W-4: • Check the box if your last name differs from that shown on your Social Security Card. You must contact the Social Security Administration office to obtain an updated Social Security Card. • Enter the effective date of the change in the Effective Date of Change box. • Select the appropriate status from the Deduction Status drop-down list, Active or Exempt (note the statement to claim exemption from withholding). • Select the appropriate Filing Status.
• Enter the number of allowances (exemptions) in the Number of Allowances field. • To withhold additional money, enter the additional amount per paycheck in the Additional Tax Withholding field.
