I live in York and have just had a 78cm dish chosen and installed by an engineer for reception of these 3 satellites. The prime focus LNB is on 19.2, with the LNBs for Hotbird and 28.2 either side. I asked the engineer why the LNB for Hotbird wasn't prime focus and he said that 'with such a large dish it doesn't matter'. Before this I had a 60cm dish for 28.2 and 19.2, installed by the same enginner 2 years earlier (with 19.2 prime focus on this one too).

I am now getting, according to my Skystar 2 PC card, 47% signal strength for MTV Central from 13.0E and today has been a clear day with very little cloud. Some other transponders on Hotbird have higher readings (11568V for instance has 72% strength). Isn't the MTV reading a little low and is it worth calling him and asking about maybe making 13.0E prime focus with the other 2 offset? Also, a weak transponder on Eurobird 1 (12607V) now has a signal strenth of just 12% and a test card I was (just about) getting on a clear day with a then 30% signal strength from a transmission called 'Test TV' I am now no longer getting. If Hotbird was made prime focus, would this make reception of the Czech transponders on Eurobird even worse?

Following the news, and after various attempts to fix the issue, Internet giants Mozilla and Google have ceased support for the plugin on their browsers, Firefox and Chrome respectively. However Adobe (Shockwave) Flash was once the prominent software for displaying such multimedia items including video, animations, games and graphics. Adobe flash hack for ppc software accounting software What is Adobe Flash? Many websites now use a markup language (HTML 5) to display multimedia on the web.

EDIT: I have just found out that signal strength on Polsat 1 and 2 is just 46-48% and there is severe breakup making the channels unwatchable - I take it this is not normal? Look at this info page: Seems to be the way to go. Thanks for the link - my dish is actually set up more or less exactly the same - the 13.0E LNB on the left, 19.2 as the prime focus in the middle and the 28.2E LNB on the right as the second offset. Confusingly, I can get Polsat 1 and 2 today but with around 52% signal strength (another clear day here with just a little high cloud) so I still think there is a problem - seems to particularly affect this transponder and also the one with MTV Central on it too. I have a 90cm dish and it is aligned on 13° with offsets for 19° and 28° which works very well.

The only real problem during rain are one or two transponders on Eurobird especially HCN which can cause the Sky receiver to crash with a reboot needed to restore normal operation. My Humax box handles better during low signals. However the Czech multiplex is weak even during dry weather and disappears during rain. If you need those I would aim directly with an 80cm dish. There is no problem with the MTV Central on Hotbird at 78% which about 3% stronger than the one on Astra. There is no problem with the MTV Central on Hotbird at 78% which about 3% stronger than the one on Astra Just checked again and MTV Central on Hotbird is averaging 49% (flickering between 46% and 52%) and on 19.2 it's rock steady at 73%. I have a feeling the Skyview software has got signal strength and quality mixed up - I believe the Skystar 2 card only reports quality anyway as I doubt if the strength was around 49% I'd get *any* picture at all.

Polsat again broke up today on the frequency I listed earlier in the thread and is still doing so now. Last night however it was clear and fine from 8pm until around 8am this morning. This leads me to believe that perhaps this is caused by a slight reposition of the satellite itself causing such signals that are already one the fringe to be on the wrong side of it - my understanding of it anyway.
